Hi, I am Lim Weishun. I, like most individuals, have dreams. For some, it might be to become a doctor. For others, it might be to explore the world in their lifetime. But for me, it would be to start a space company. That is my dream. As if starting a company alone was not challenging enough, starting a space company would push my limits to the max and here on my website, I would be documenting the process of achieving it. Welcome to my website and I hope you have a nice day :)

Who Am I?

What is my story?

It all began when I was a 1-year-old baby. I was young and had no memory of what was about to happen. My father got a job overseas in India, and to remain close to him, my mother decided to bring both my 2-month-old brother and me there. Growing up in India was very different compared to Singapore. I grew up there for 4 years, from the ages of 1 to 5, attending an American school, Excelsior American School. Despite not remembering the first move to India, the experiences and life lessons I would have gotten there would stay with me to this day.

My Inspiration

Inspiration. What is it? According to the Cambridge dictionary, it says and I quote, "someone or something that gives you ideas for doing something." And I 100% agree with it. However, my inspiration comes from not just 1 source. In fact, there are various sources of inspiration in my life. Some of which are people who I am close to such as my grandparents, while others are the experiences that I have gone through throughout my life.

My Dream

As a visionary, I like to dream big and go crazy with my ideas. Ideas never seen before on the face of this planet. Ideas that will change the world for the better. My dream would be to start a space company to help humans advance further than we have ever gone before in the history of mankind by working on the numerous underdeveloped technologies in the space industry together as one. And all this started because of a special moment in my life when I was 14 years old.

I was just a typical secondary 2 school student, and like many students at that age, after returning home from school, we were glued to our phones all day long, watching YouTube videos, playing video games, and generally being very unproductive. However, one Friday afternoon after returning from school, I would have come across a YouTube video that changed my life. This video gave me the motivation to accomplish what I wanted to do in my life, allowing me to learn the essential skills of an engineer starting at the age of 14, such as programming, PCB designing, and CAD modelling. These various engineering skills would prove helpful to me for a crazy and ambitious project I started with my team.

A student research initiative project to develop a rocket engine, specifically an Aerospike Engine.
