Canon Launcher Project:

Over the course of my 1st semester as a student pursuing the Diploma in Engineering Science, I was tasked to design a catapult launcher that would launch a projectile as far and accurate as possible. The final design was a fire extinguisher powered canon which shot a 3D printed projectile at speeds of up to 26m/s(93.6Km/h)!! The planning, prototyping, testing and data analysis took over 30 man-hours to complete and I was very happy with the results. Given more time, I would definitely refine the design such as tweaking the length and design of the barrel to make the projectile much more accurate. At the end of the project, essential skills such as data analysis that were taught would stick with me and help me in my engineering journey for decades to come.
